Matthew 4:1-11

God loves us and has a wonderful plan for our lives. As soon as we accept that truth and begin following that plan, it won't be long before we realize that Satan has a plan too. He doesn't care is we call ourselves Christian. He just doesn't want us to act like one. And when we consider that countless people who are turned off by hypocritical Christians, it's obvious why this is one of Satan's favorite strategies.

Everyone expects Christians to act differently- and rightly so. If Satan can sidetrack us from living as Jesus' true followers, he has won the day. It all boils down to a power struggle, seen in Matthew 4. Satan wasn't out to kill Jesus. Rather, at this point he was out to recruit Jesus. In essence, it was Satan's way of saying, "I don't care if You are the Messiah, just let me manage how You're going to work out Your Messiahship."

It's interesting that the Spirit intentionally led Jesus into the wilderness for this confrontation. Perhaps to remind us that life with Jesus is not always easy. In fact, we should expect to spend some time in the "wilderness" of temptation and testing. When we're at our weakest, as Jesus must have been after his 40-day fast, Satan tries to take advantage. He knows where we're vulnerable and creeps into our struggle with seemingly good plans. But beware - his plans are not God's plans, and they're not good plans! Jesus knew that, and He over-powered the enemy with the Word of God.

Admist the dry and dusty scenery of weak moments in our lives, it's GOD's Word that refreshes our souls and protects us from Satan's attempt to manipulate and malign our witness for Christ. His Word is the key to victory. It also charts the course for following His wonderful plan for our lives.

Romans 8:15-17

There is a hunger in all our hearts to belong,to be approved of.We wan to experience a father's touch & to see his accepting smile, to know tt our father accepts us & loves us.Some of us may not have had this as a child.This may not haf been our experience with our earthly fathers,but if we belong to Christ,we haf a perfect,loving,& attentive heavenly Father.

I love the words of Romans 8:15-17.According to these verses,we are children of GOD.In fact,the words "Abba!Father!" can be translated,"Daddy,Father."

I'm privileged to haf a wonderful earthly father,& yet my father is human.He has weaknesses,shortcomings & imperfections. But indeed everyone,including myself,have too! No matter how hard he tried, he is but a man. But we haf a heavenly Father who is perfect,who loves us dearly, & who wants us to call Him "Abba Father" or "Dad".

This world can be very cruel. Rejection is part & parcel of the downside of our lives.People don't always treat us right, reject us. But we belong to GOD, & all tt He has is at our disposal. The Holy Spirit who lives in us is really, in a sense, an expression of GOD our Father's smile, His favour, His pleasure.

God is proud of us.He loves us.In fact,when HE goes with us everyday.He says to others through our lives,"Hey, these are My children.They have My name.Their names are Christians."

On the cross, we see the restraint of a Man who had the power to destroy but chose to forgive.

Psalm 1:1-3

I believe as im reading this passage for my QT... God wants me to tell the readers here that there's smth special for every Christian to do. That's what we mean by a "calling." A calling from God is the burden on our hearts. Sometimes we're so busy in life doing "Christianity" that we dont pay attention to those gentle promptings the Spirit of God has given each of us. If we want to know the meaning and purpose in life, we need to heed what GOD has placed on our heart and be true to that vision, that sense of mission.

The Apostle Paul is a great model to follow. In Acts 26, Paul had just given his testimony to King Agrippa explaining why he did what he did. Paul wrapped it all up in verses 19 and 20 by saying, "I stayed on track. God gave me a vision and I ordered my life and disciplined myself to be true to that vision."

Life is urgent and uncertain. That's why we need to be sure that we're doing what GOD has placed in our hearts to do. Dont take the will of GOD for granted. That's your heavenly vision. Find out what it is, and give your life to doing it.

Application/Testimony: Upon reading this passage and GOD speaking to me... i suddenly have a strong urge to sms my ex-UL, David Ong, who is now in NS... to ask him how is he! HE finally replied.. saying that he is not doing very well there, as his operation wound hurts and have to rest and stop all the training on a island out of singapore... i think it is quite divine...

hope that GOD will watch over him and he will surely be blessed there as we continue to keep him in prayers! =) people if u are reading this... please pray for him as well.. thanks and god bless! david you can do it!! cos GOD is always there to protect and back u up! jiayou brother! GOD tak3 away his pain!

John 19:26-27

Being the oldest son, Jesus would have been responsible for the care of His mother. If anything had happened to Him, the responsibility would have fallen to the next oldest male child, presumably James. It's curious, then, that Jesus entrusts His mother to John, the youngest of the disciples. We are told that she went to live in his home from that time on. Tradition says that John was with her when she died.

In the garden, amid the tremendous struggle of will Jesus was caught up in, three times He broke off His prayers to check on the disciples - Peter, James, and John - worried that they might be falling into temptation. Now, here at the cross as Jesus faces the struggle of His life, He is nevertheless mindful of His mother. Though His lament comes from the deepest part of the self, it is not selfish or self-centered. He is concerned for the soldiers. He is concerned for His mother. And perhaps this second statement shows a measure of concern for the youthful John, who perhaps at this point in his life needed Mary more than she needed him.

John's obedience to Jesus' words was immediate. "From that hour," he says, "the disciple took her to his own home." It might seem puzzling if we stop tp think about it. They weren't even remotely close to John's home in Capernaum, far to the north, in the Galilee. (Though there is a tradition that John's father, Zebedee, had a business in Jerusalem and would have naturally had a home there, there is nothing about it in the text.)

That's really what the Ten Commandments are all about: to show us our need for Jesus.

Psalm 8

What's the first thing that comes to mind when i think of GOD? To me, HE's the Creator of the universe. This is often so easily to say that we used to forget how incredible the statement is.

Psalm 8:3 says, "When I look at your heavens the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place." Hebrews 11:3 says, "by faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of GOD, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible."

But despite all that, GOD extended Himself toward us with the incredible love of the cross through His Son, Jesus Christ. He wrote His love message on that crossbeam of wood and pinned it to an empty sky for all the universe to see: "I love you". He opened the way for us to come back to HIM.

hopefully the 1% cohort can be done really soon? the best is NOW!! hahaha... okok! GOD im not going to let U off unless U bless me! im not going to stay in my comfort zone... but i will go all out to my courage zone! hey hey ppl! today is saturday.. svc day!!! michelle and elizabeth went to donate blood and when praise tt time michelle feel very giddy nearly fainted... scared us man! then i really not well cos of food poisoning and dehydration! yup yup... during svc most of the times im in africa room lying down and in the toilet vomiting..

my shpd is very caring.... she prayed for me, buy milo and accompany me thruout.. thank GOD for her! im wishing her the best as she move on! hope that GOD can stretch her further and use her greatly wherever she goes! so jia you man! after svc, we had jc year 2 appreciation at america room! it's great! ^^ you all can do it with GOD's strength! kambate! =)

after everything... the time is abt 7pm le... i reached back bishan and went home rest! i go see doc at the neighbourhood clinic.. im the second one so not too bad! my mummy accompany me there and the doc says i will not recovered really quick... so two days of MC was given to me! that means no school on monday and no gb on sunday for me! T.T

the doc says if i go to seek medical treatment one or two days later... may have to end up in the hospital... scary man! thank GOD... i go see doc le! yup yup... and hor i allegy to a medicine which can cure the nausea feeling... so there is no better medicine for me le! diao diao... then he kinda give me flu tablets for nausea! =(

huiying hang on.... GOD is gonna help u to have a breakthru in health really soon!!! yea yea.... i kinda crazy talking and encouraging myself... hahaz... hallelujah! promos coming... gonna mug mug mug soon! but whatever i do... gotta do it for GOD alone! so im willing to give my best shot to the end! start the race with the end in mind! (">)

Today i wake up so so so early to go for this leadership conference at RP! the place is quite nice and we were very well-fed! i went to two talks M.A.D and yours/mine?... they are interesting man! like M.A.D is making a difference and yours or mine is taking ownership of the place we are living in.. in the sense quite divine, and we can apply in christian context... like making a difference wherever we go with the love of GOD!

and taking ownership of our schools... to win them over to the world of light! yeah yeah... and miss sally chew is quite funny also... she is the girls' brigade commissoner! i really respect her a lot! she talks abt dreams and passion.. she is a christian... so the way that she tries to speak to us is special cos she trying to tell us abt the parable of the good neighbour!

etc etc.. if u wanna know more.. feel free to come and ask me! hahaz... and then RP is so cold man! GOD may u provide me with the warmth needed!! i la tu zi for most of the times... having slight fever and sick sick! sobs... here also no reception... sian sian... yesterday's shepherding: =)

We all are here to set a standard for the CG.

Having the gift of leadership does not make someone a spiritual leader.

In the world, we can see many leaders but they are not leading spiritually.

Aaron is a good communicator and a prominent leader.

God test Aaron of his heart attitude.

Aaron is doing something not right.

Aaron makes a god out of gold and he does all the wrong thing cos he scared of losing popularity.

E.g. Compromise God's principles, connecting people.

What are we focusing on?

People, who are spiritual, will want to follow spiritual leaders.

Our service to GOD comes out from the right hearts and not the appearances.

When our focus is not right, it'll be revealled on the judgement day.

Be honest with ourselves, our weaknesses, sins and struggles.

Rather than you own up your own weaknesses and sins. Don't hide them!

Don't blame others for smth that you do wrong.

WE learn from our mistakes.

Today is saturday... i went to bible study at chinatown... tabernacle of joy! we learn abt a lot of stuff from the bible! after the bible study... we went for lunch... i eat until very full man. service is awesome.. yeah yeah.... the reading of the scripture is cool and great la! yeah!! i wanna respond to the svc by doing everything to GOD! after svc... we went talking with aloysius and jennah... we keep on talking and stopping...

haha... sandy is like a bit frustrated... hahaha... funny... then scared me and mh la... xy nearly banged down by a car... she is actually walking towards us with her shpd... then she hugged us at the side and the road... don know why she dashed into the middle of the road... then a taxi nearly banged her down! thank GOD the taxi stopped in time! we went to le merdian for tea break!

jennah accidentally dropped the drink and she is like auntie mopping the floor! haha... jkjk... but she is a very sweet girl... cos she scared it's very slippery and we will fall down, so she decided to mop dry the place! lol... then we have a nice chat and then called hannah thru loud speaker to pray for her! hope that she will be ok soon! jiayou hannah! GOD will heal u de! ^^

then after the teabreak... we went centrepoint coffee bean for shpding! it's great... carmen taught us abt spiritual leadership... we gotta rise up man for GOD!! we shall do it tgt, yeah? MI for JESUS! hahahaha... err... today the sermon is powerful... like a divine direct speaking from HIM! hahaha... alright i nid to go le... night ppl! yea yea.... tAKE CARE AND JIAYOU FOR EXAMS!
